New Year's 2009!

We are having a New Year's Bash at our house tonight. We tried to get all the invites out before Christmas, but lots of people were out of town. So if we missed you, sorry, but you're still welcome to come on over! 8:00pm - ?????? No kids. It will be great. See you all there!

Snow!

We finally got the first good snowfall of the winter. I love it during Christmas time. The kids have been dying to go out and play. Finally we did and they had a ball. They made snow angels, made tracks (As Connor was saying, "Making tracks to great destinations!" Thomas, anyone?), and we had a snowball fight. So fun to hit these little munchkins with a snowball! We had a great time. And it is snowing again today! Maybe we can make a snowman this time!

My Birthday!

Unfortunately I hit the birthday I didn't want to hit. 30! It sounds so mature, but I am still so not! It turned out to be a fun weekend with a little family party. (Sorry brothers and sisters. Dave planned this little get together and forgot to call my siblings!) Anyway, I had a great time. My family is great. (Dave's family is included in that statement.) I opened presents, and we had cake and ice cream. It was a good low key party.

I have worried about this birhtday for a long time because it seems so old. Then a good friend of mine, Bekah, reminded me of all the wonderful things that have happened to me in my 30 years. And it's true. I've accomplished a lot in these 30 years. Many dreams have come true. And I have a beautiful family. I amy very lucky and blessed. Here's to the next 30 years! May they be as wonderful as the last!

Dave's Work Party 2008

Yes, we got all dressed up again this year for the Omniture prom! I borrowed a dress from a fabulous friend and it made me feel great! Size 4! Pretty good for a girl who turned 30 on the same day! Anyway, we ended up getting there a little late due to a sick child, snow, and an hour drive. My in-laws saved the day by driving down to watch our kids. Thanks! The food was alright except my steak was still mooing. But the company of of Mariah and Kalon and the dancing was so fun! We wanted to go to Wal-Mart and buy sweats, but there wasn't a close one. Next time! We also couldn't get a good serious picture, so enjoy the outtakes!

My Beautiful Christmas House!

We have had these lights for three years and this is the first they got put up. Thanks Mark for the assist and motivation for my hubby! Anyway, I love them! I think my house looks beautiful. Here are a couple pics. One with the flash and one without.

The True Meaning of Christmas

I love Christmas time with all the decorations, lights, trees, presents, Santa, etc. But the main reason I love Christmas time is the Spirit and love that it brings with it. Jesus Christ was born on the earth to redeem us from our sins. Where would we be without Him? Check out this wonderful video that shows the true joy Christmas brings.

Have you seen it yet?

I loved the movie! There was only one part that bothered me and it was Edward's reaction to Bella's scent the first time he smelled her. I want to go see it again. Hopefully in a theater that is not full of 13-17 year old girls. Our theater was a squeal fest! I'm so happy they are making New Moon! Yeah!
What did you think of this movie?

Wedding Day

On the 28th, Dave's brother Cameron got married. He married a wonderful girl named Kirsten. We all love her and are so happy to have her as part of our family. It was a great day even if it was a little cold.

After the wedding dinner, we went back to the Grant's house and partied with Cam's buddies. (Dave's too.) We had a great day!

Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We spent the day at the Burrahms. We played games, cooked, ate, ate, ate, etc. You get the idea. I love the Thanksgiving feast. Here are some fun pictures of the day!

Yeah! It's time!

We were so excited to put up our fancy tree. Especially since a I bought a bunch of new decorations for it and a new tree skirt! I love my red, gold, and green tree! Thanks family for helping me put it up!

Thankful

For Family Home Evening last week, we talked about all the things that we are thankful for and put them on our Thankful Tree that is hanging in our kitchen. Every time we look at it, we remember all the blessings we have in our lives.

Here are some additional things I am thankful for:
*My fabulous husband. I can't imagine ever being without him.
*My beautiful triplets. My life wouldn't be the same without them and the experiences I've had because of them.
*My parents who have always been there for me.
*My brothers and sisters. They are truly some of my best friends.
*My preschool. It's always been my dream to have my own preschool. I love to teach and the kids make my life so much richer.
*My friends, old and new. You've all helped me through very tough times.
*My knowledge that families can be forever!

I Voted!

I went out today and cast my vote to see who will lead this country. I felt rather proud voting this year even though I've been doing it for more than ten years. I just felt proud that I live in a country where I have the right to help determine who leads this nation. I am so blessed to be an American and to raise a family here. I know times are hard now, but we are in Heavenly Father's watchful care. If we are faithful and do all that we can to prepare ourselves, we have no need to fear what is in store no matter who gets voted as the next President.
So everyone do your part and go out and vote today! Hurry, there's not much time left!

Halloween

We had such a great Halloween this year. Last Monday for FHE, we carved our pumpkins. (Well, I carved them because Dave was playing in his soccer tournament.) This year Connor and Brooke dug right into their pumpkins and pulled the guts out! They are so brave! Aspen on the other hand wasn't. I stuck her hand in with mine a couple of times to show her it was okay, but she just screamed. So, I finally gave her a long handled spoon and she dug out her pumpkin that way. I ended up carving 5 pumpkins total. Mickey Mouse, the Rose from Beauty and the Beast, Snow White, a vampire going to bite a girls neck, and a funny face. We also ate bugs and slime for a treat. (Bug graham crackers and green vanilla pudding!) The kids loved it.

We also had parties at preschool. We played Bingo, decorated bags, did a candy toss, and ate good snacks!

The girls also had a Halloween party at their dance class. They got to wear their costumes, do a Halloween dance, share candy, and have lots of fun.

Halloween day was a big one. I made orange pumpkin pancakes for breakfast and I made spider sandwiches for lunch. They were delicious and huge! The kids loved them.
Later, we went to Dave's work to trick or treat and see all of the fun decorations. It was so much more crowded this year than previous years, but it was still great. They had a jewel quest, a large Candyland game, a super hero section, the Wizard of Oz, a BYU/UofU football field, and many more fun places.

Finally, we came home and the kids trick or treated around the neighborhood with Dave. I stayed home and passed out candy. We had so many trick-or-treaters. The most since we've lived here. I loved it. I also made a Halloween 7 Layer Dip that Dave and I dug into while the kids were chowing on their candy. It was really a fun, busy, day!

Halloween Party

Our friends the Morrisses had an awesome Halloween party a couple of weeks ago. The house was decorated amazingly, the kids decorated bags, played games, won prizes, and we ate lots of good food (including homemade salsa)! The kids this year are Peter Pan, Tinker Bell, and Wendy. Since Peter Pan was their favorite ride at Disneyland, I thought these costumes would be great. (The kids don't really have much say. I put the idea in their heads and they loved it. I don't know how long I am going to get away with matching my triplets Halloween costumes so I am taking advantage of it now!) Dave and I went as Edward and Bella. Not much costuming to do there. Plus, I love those books.
We love Halloween Parties.
