Haircuts

My girls HATE having their hair pulled up and as a result it is always hanging limply and ugly in their faces. So, they got haircuts this week. I think they look so adorable. I cut Aspen's hair and my neighbor Nancy (who is a hairstylist) did Brooke's. Her hair is too straight for me to trust myself to do. They look so cute though and love having their hair cut. Now it's time for me to take Connor over to Merri's to get it buzzed!

Preschool Graduation

Preschool is over for the summer! I had a great first year of teaching preschool at home! I am really excited for next year too. We had our graduation last week, and overall it went pretty good. As can be expected, some kids clammed up, some goofed off, and I did most of the singing alone, but it was fun. Here are a few pictures.

My 5K

I ran my first 5k on Memorial Day. It was the first one in like 8 or 9 years. I had been training for it and I was hoping that I could do it in like 26 minutes. But that didn't happen. First of all it was cold and rainy. Second of all, the entire second mile and most of the third mile was all uphill. I wasn't prepared for that. I finished in 29 minutes. Not bad. I'm still happy with it. But the 4th of July 5k in Centerville I will run in 26 minutes or less--I promise.

Connor's Day with Thomas

On Saturday, May 24, Dave took Connor to Heber to see and ride on Thomas the Tank Engine. Connor is absolutely obsessed with Thomas and anything to do with trains right now. He got his picture taken with Thomas, rode Thomas, saw Sir Toppham Hat, played games, and (his favorite) play with toy trains. He played in the room with the toy trains for an hour and a half! He wouldn't even go eat lunch. He wasn't extremely excited about Thomas until they were about to leave, and he kept telling Dave to "go the other way" back to Thomas. He had a really fun day with Thomas and his Dad!

While Connor and Dave were off seeing Thomas, me and the girls took a trip to the mall. We went to the Disney store where the girls had a ball! They loved all the princess stuff. I let them pick one thing and they finally decided on sunglasses. Then we went to McDonald's to eat and the girls played on the toy. When Connor and Dave got home, I saw Connor wearing a pair of Thomas sunglasses that Dave bought him! How fun that they all got new sunglasses!
