Preschool Halloween Parties!

We have had a great time partying in preschool. Lots of games, candy, sweets and costumes. I am going to be so tired tomorrow. Holidays really wear a teacher down. Ask any of them. I'm just glad that I only have classes of 5 and 6 now instead of 20 or so! But holidays are also the most fun part of being a teacher too.

I've been tagged!

Since I have been tagged I need to give seven random facts about my family. Here goes:
1. Aspen and Connor still are not pottty trained. Will they ever be?
2. Our family loves to watch the Office.
3. I love to watch Beauty and the Geek. ( It's hard to believe that there are such dim-witted and nerdy people out there!)
4. When Brooke or someone else says a really long sentence, she says, "Whoa. That was a lot of words."
5. Dave looks very similar to two people: Owen Wilson and Shaggy.
6. Dave's nickname at work is Cliffy. (Where that name came from? No idea.)
7. Having 3 three year olds is not an easy job.

Murder Mystery

For Halloween, we had a murder mystery dinner at a friend's house. We had a great time! My character was Miss Kansas City 1959 and Dave was a Russian rocket scientist. I ended up being the murderer!! Well, my character's twin sister anyway. We are definitely going to have to do another one of these next year!

Trunk or Treat!

(our neighbor) Kamrie, Brooke, Aspen, Connor

Belle, Cinderella, and Da'gum trunk or treating.

Connor, Kamrie, Brooke, Aspen, Bailee, Broc, and Conner

This is a Utah church tradition for those of you who don't know. People from our church drive over to the church parking lot and park their cars with the trunks facing out. The kids walk from trunk to trunk getting candy. It is fun and not a whole lot of walking for a good amount of candy. With the help of my friend Bekah, we got all the kids dressed up and looking cute. Everytime the kids went to a new car, Brooke would say, "I'm Belle." Aspen would say, "I'm Cinderella." Connor would say, "I'm Da'gum." (This is what he calls Lightning McQueen even though Mater says it in the movie.) When we got home, the kids asked if they could eat all of their candy. They are going to be on a sugar high for the next month I fear. It was a fun night.

Pumpkin Patch!

Connor kept tripping on the dead vines. Poor kid.
Aspen cried a lot because it was so cold and muddy!
Brooke had a ball. She had a hard time deciding which pumpkin she wanted. I think this is the 5th or 6th that she picked.

We had a great time at the pumpkin patch in preschool this morning. It was very cold and the ground was very muddy. But it was so fun. The kids are excited to go again tomorrow with the other preschool class.

Jack-o-lanterns!

For Family Home Evening, we helped the kids carve their pumpkins. Well, more like we did it for them. I did have them all pull out some of the pumpkins insides. None of them liked that too well, but Connor and Aspen cried. Oh well. Dave and I will carve our pumpkins sometime this week!

Rock Stars!

Dave and my brother-in-law Berkeley wish they were rock stars. I guess Guitar Hero will have to do. They are jammin out! And the kids had a ball dancing to the music!

Taco Casserole

So, my neighbors wanted this recipe so here it is! This is a family favorite and soooo simple!

1 lb. hamburger meat
1 pkg. taco seasoning
1 small pkg. Velveeta
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 can of milk (the can is from the soup)
1 bag tortilla chips

Cook and drain hamburger meat, then add the seasoning. In a small bowl, mix the soup and milk. Cut up cheese into strips. In a 9x13 pan, layer chips, meat, soup, cheese, then repeat. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes!

I Won!

Yeah!!!! I won the cute dress for my Halloween costume on ebay. Luckily, nobody pulled a fast one and took it from me in the last few seconds! Woo hoo! Very excited. Now I can officially be Miss Kansas City 1959!

Soreness!

I started my aerobics class this week with my neighbor. I did step and kickboxing. I am so sore! I can move but It hurts if I am touched! I love it though. Great feeling! I need to get in shape.

Pumpkins

We are doing a project on pumpkins in preschool. All of the kids are having a great time. I don't know about the other kids, but my kids talk about pumpkins 24/7 now and freak out every time they see pumpkins. It is really cool to see them so excited about learning! And it makes me feel good that I am teaching them!

Here are some pictures of my kids painting pumpkins in preschool.
